Players running through the deluge to escape the battle at The Brass Bear
Nico slowly begins shifting back into her pure changeling form, barely surviving with 1 HP, bleeding slowly and dramatically in the storm.
Nico, Scarlet, and Henri make their way back to Scarlet’s home, Henri’s stabilized Scarlet and dragged her back. She was able to find Henri’s first aid kit and used the rare, powerful Healing Potion inside to revive Scarlet and heal Nico. Henri then gave Scarlet some Sourchew which bolstered her strength.
Scarlet and Henri have a heart-to-heart with Nico after Nico tells them about her upbringing. The fights, the beatings, the “sleeping men.” Scarlet and Henri convince Nico that she’s been killing these men, and that her father had turned her into a weapon to harm people.
After their heart-to-heart, HenScarCo listen to the radio, taking in the sounds and stories from Kalantha.
HenScarCo seek out some magical items, particularly a Bag that could hold more than it seemed. They went to Rhyndil Upper Ward and Nina’s Glimmer Wonders. Unfortunately, a magical bag of that level of power was beyond her skills, and she suggested maybe only one or two people could craft Glimmertech with that level of magic: Reshi, the Rhyndil Councilman was one man, and perhaps the Zindae or Glimmertech conglomerates had people of their own.
Disappointed, HenScarCo make their way down to The Wildfire Inn to retrieve Nico’s belongings.
Baalam leaves Gar unconscious in a flooded trash pile in an alleyway near The Brass Bear to look for a place to buy some healing.
Baalam eventually arrives at a sundries shop in Shinji Central Ward called The Cache. Clal, the owner of the establishment sells some new-age healing syringes based on Glimmer. They’re not exactly regulated or tested, but Baalam wants them. They cost too much for Baalam’s cheap self, but Clal agrees to sell him one for half the price if he checks on his brother Arrk in the Dohani Lower Ward.
Baalam goes back to Gar and administers the Glimmerstim, reviving Gar.
The two go down into the Dohani to check on Ma and visit Arrk.
After a brief conversation with Arrk, he tells Baalam and Gar that he’s recently had a shipment stolen and that it’s important that he gets it back. He takes the two into his store room which is cut into the rock of the lower ward itself. He flips a few switches and lights illuminate the storage area.
They pass shelves upon shelves of boxes and crates before arriving in the back where several crates are ripped open and the soft, hay-like protective material inside strewn about.
Garlam, after some coercion, learn that Arrk is smuggling Glimmerdot for the Zindae Syndicate. This shipment has gone missing, however, and is over a day late to be delivered to Club Underbridge. The only thing remaining is an ornate pocketwatch, inscribed with the logo of the Carxis Guild on the back with lettering that said “Nobody escapes the Hand of the Ticking Clock.”
Baalam was able to open the pocketwatch, and inside was a paper whose encrypted in an altered roguish cant. At the bottom it was signed “The Ticking Clock.”
At this moment a voice called from the entrance to the warehouse. Several Zindae enforcers flanked a skinny, shoulder-length-purple-haired figure smoking a glimmer cig. After a tense series of back and forths, Garlam now work for the Zindae, and if they don’t find the shipment by tomorrow (thanks to Arrk volunteering a time frame for them) then Baalam’s family will be in trouble.
Garlam begin investigating Dot. Gar knows a guy on the corner named Corner who not-so-secretly sells drugs. He’s a tall disheveled elf filled with conspiracy theories. After some questioning Garlam learns that there’s kids in The Walks that sell “newspapers,” some of them with drugs in them.
Garlam heads down to the walks and corners one of the child peddlers standing in front of the Wildfire Inn, eventually knocking him to the ground when he tries to scurry away and call for help (”I don’t want to go into the alley with you!! Why are you taking your pants off?!”) Garlam learns that some grey suited dudes with dragon tattoos comes to he and his friends’ hovel sometimes to give them money for selling this stuff.
At this moment, HenScarCo happen to show up to The Wildfire and see an unfortunate scene. Nico runs up and punches Gar, knocking him unconscious, sending the group into a small battle. Baalam eventually escapes, Nico stopping to help Gar after he conversations about killing people with Henlet.
The episode ends with Baalam watching from the shadows, and the rest of the group carrying Gar’s unconscious body inside The Wildfire Inn.
Party went to investigate a child by the name of Farron who apparently led the efforts to sell Dot on the streets of the Dohani.
The party found his hovel, but none of the children were there. There was however a strange woman seemingly going through the place.
After some espionage and stealthiness, they learned that this woman was named Baryl and maybe, possible, might know someone who knows someone who allegedly knows someone who works for the Ticking Clock.
Baryl listened to Baalam’s plight while having a standoff with him, and told him to meet at a place called Neal’s Diner in Sinji in two hours.
The party took care of one the urchins Bronny, and brought him up to Scarlet’s home in Sinji. He took a bath and it was disgusting.
After a while of surveying Neal’s, Baalam and Henri received a package from Neal himself. They could hear the ticking from inside the box, but decided to head down to Arrk’s before opening it.
